My Mid-Year System Review (2026 edition)

Hey pen friend!

I recently made the decision to revive my email newsletter. So if you're reading this, THANK YOU!

As I bring back my email newsletter, I hope to share tid-bits from my life, things I'm currently enjoying, and, of course, thoughts on my planner and journal system. Currently, I plan to send out an email newsletter every week, but I'll be sure to update you if I decide to change things up.

Thank you so much for coming along for the ride with me! & If you ever decide this is no longer for you, please feel free to unsubscribe at any time.

Mid-Year System Review

Somehow, I finally found a level of consistency with my planner and journal system. My system itself has changed little since the beginning of the year with only a slight change last month.

My current system consists of:

  • my personal planner in a Hobonichi Weeks,
  • my mind dump book in an A5 Leuchtturm1917 dot grid notebook,
  • my work bullet journal in an A5 Stalogy grid notebook,
  • my work commonplace book in an A5 Leuchtturm1917 dot grid notebook,
  • and my pocket every day carry notebook.

I've stuck with this set of notebooks for six months thus far, and I feel very good about it! It's probably the most consistent I've ever been with my planner and journal system.

If you've seen my Hobonichi Weeks on Instagram, you probably already know, that I use the memo pages in the back for my bullet journal style daily logs. Unfortunately I'm almost running out of pages. I'll have to switch to my back-up Hobonichi Weeks next month or so. This was definitely a lesson to myself to always get the Hobonichi Weeks Mega. lol.

Also, I'm already thinking about 2027. I currently intend to keep the same system; however, I am looking for other A5 journal options to use for my work bullet journal. As much as I enjoy the 4 mm grid in the Stalogy, I'd like to use a hardcover notebook next year. If you have any suggestions, please let me know! I'd like to consider my options, but I may just default to a Leuchtturm1917.

In my next email newsletter, I plan to go into more details about my mind dump book, and why I chose to "rebrand" it from my personal commonplace book. Please let me know if you have any questions about my mind dump book you'd like me to address in my coming newsletter. Just send me an email reply or send me a DM on Instagram with your questions.

Currently Enjoying

Before I sign off, I thought I'd share one thing that I'm currently enjoying, and that is Olivia Rodrigo's new album you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love. I feel like a lot of people are enjoying it. So it's probably no surprise.

I'm not someone that follows new music, but I've really enjoyed the work that Olivia has been releasing. I love that her new album you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love is a cohesive piece of work. I've missed listening to albums that tell a story. Many of her songs live rent free in my brain, but I particularly enjoy "stupid song," "the cure," "what's wrong with me" featuring Robert Smith, and "expectations."

Thank you for reading my email newsletter! I'll catch you in the next one!
