I'm back!

Hey pen friends! This is Amy, @nibsandnovels over on Instagram. It's been nearly a year now since I've sent out an email newsletter, and I've decided I'm finally ready to revive it again. So welcome to from the desk of nibsandnovels!

Why have an email newsletter?

I don't know about you, but I'm getting a bit exhausted over on traditional social media. I joined social media to find a community of people with similar hobbies. People that like stationery, fountain pens, reading, photography, and whatever else strikes my interest. Some days, social media feels like an engaging place. However, most days, I find myself mindlessly scrolling my feed, seeing random posts from people I may or may not follow. It can definitely get unhealthy.

So I'm reviving my email newsletter in hopes of finding a community in which I can have meaningful conversations with. It will not be award winning writing, but it will be a letter from myself to you.

What can I expect from your email newsletter?

Currently, I plan on sending out an email newsletter once a week. In my newsletter, I'll address some topic relating to one of my hobbies, which will most often be about my planner and journal system. I also plan on sharing at least one thing from my daily life that I'm enjoying at that moment.

I'm always open to writing about any questions you may have as well. So if you're curious about beginner fountain pens, what's my go to fountain pen ink, or whatever else may be on your mind, don't hesitate to reach out via email or DMs on Instagram. Perhaps, I'll write a newsletter addressing your question.

Do I need to pay to receive your email newsletter?

No, my email newsletter is free. I'm not trying to sell you anything. I don't have any courses or products. So my intention is to keep any subscription to this email newsletter completely free. However, my email newsletters may occasionally have affiliate links within them, which would give me a commission if you were to purchase anything through the link. I'm only a part of a few affiliate programs. So it won't be often, and it will be clearly disclosed at the beginning of the newsletter.

Will you still be posting on social media?

Yes, I will be! I don't plan on giving up Instagram or anything, but I may not write any long captions over there. Granted, I'm not sure if many people read long captions these days...

If I was subscribed, do I need to subscribe again?

Yes, please subscribe again. It's been nearly a year since I've sent out an email newsletter, and I didn't think it would be fair to migrate my list and essentially force those that aren't interested anymore to opt-out of the emails. Please resubscribe if you're interested in hearing from me.

What platform are you using for your email newsletter?

My previous email newsletter was over on Substack, and I am now using Kit. I decided to switch platforms largely because Substack was feeling too much like traditional social media. I also felt like Substack was a bit limiting when it came to formatting the email newsletter itself. So I'm giving Kit a try this time.

I hope this gave you an idea as to what my email newsletter will be about. I look forward to building a deeper connection with you. & Please don't hesitate to reach out!

I'll see you in my next email!
